Riverdale season 3 spoilers: Archie Andrews star drops Veronica Lodge bombshell

RIVERDALE will return to television screens later this year and ahead of its season three premiere, KJ Apa, who stars as Archie Andrews, has dropped a huge bombshell.
Ahead of the Riverdale season three premiere, actor AJ hinted that fans could be in for a shock.
Many fans will remember that Archie was framed for murder by his girlfriend Veronica's (played by Camila Mendes) father (Mark Consuelos).
He could be seen being hauled out of Riverdale High to be taken to the police station.
While the latest trailer has revealed that Archie didn't head straight to prison and did get the chance to have a summer break, it seems the drama won't disappear.
In fact, it seems Archie's arrest could lead to the break-up of his relationship with Veronica.
When asked what fans can expect in the new series, he dished: "We start off with Archie on trial for the murder of Cassidy Bullock, and he didn't kill him obviously because we saw Andre, Veronica's chauffeur kill him.
"So we start off the season in court. It's a hot, sweaty courtroom.
"It's the hottest summer Riverdale has ever seen, so we're using the elements of Vancouver to our advantage."
He went on to tell Seventeen: "I think the chance of him going to jail for however many years, his relationship with everyone is gonna get kind of gnarly because he's not going to be able to see anyone.
"There's a confrontation between the two of them where she wants to visit him in prison and he doesn't want her to do that just because that environment isn't best suited for someone like Veronica."
